Dental Implants are titanium “tooth roots” that are precisely placed
into the jawbones. Since they are anchored into the jawbone, implant
supported teeth tend to feel much like natural teeth. Once the implant
has “healed” to the surrounding bone, much as a broken bone heals to itself,
many different designs of crowns and bridges can be fabricated to attach to the
titanium foundation. A single missing tooth or an entire arch of missing
teeth can be replaced utilizing dental implants.

Dental implants can also be used to stabilize loose dentures.
Utilizing two to five of the titanium anchors in the lower anterior jawbone is
an economical and uncomplicated method to turn a “flopping” lower denture into
a solidly snapped down denture that will stay in place.
If you think you are a candidate for dental implants, we can schedule a
consultation to discuss the possibilities for your particular situation.
Step two in the process would be a comprehensive work-up that would include necessary
x-rays, plaster models of your teeth and jaws followed by a treatment plan
presentation that would outline what you need, how it could be done and how
much it would cost.
Although we do not
place implants at Fulp Family Dentistry, we will work closely with a
periodontist to place the implant and we will restore the implant with the
crown after the implant has had time to heal.
